ONEDERS ART

As a visionary artist I am honored to be called to collaborate with three preeminent sculptors: the Creator, the ocean and time. With awe and reverence, I play my part - to gather only the old, broken, unwanted shells - then transform them into refined organic sculptures. Each piece we create is one-of-a-kind and impossible to replicate - hence the name Oneders.

 

Alongside shells I use stones which typically play a supporting role. However, I have an anointed knack for finding some that bear such uncanny likenesses to lifelike images, I place them center stage.

The final step in their long odyssey is color. My palette is inspired by the ocean’s iridescence and sparkle, so I work exclusively with pearlized metallic paints. Rich earth tones and black make their appearance in some pieces, adding warmth or a dramatic backdrop.

Oneders Art is an invitation to embrace imperfection and to ponder the miracle of transformation - both physical and spiritual. Perhaps I am entrusted to bring forth these sea treasures as I, too, was once broken - and now, gracefully restored. Ultimately the creative process is an uncharted and wondrous experience - so I follow where it leads.  Lisa Turner
